On Yemen, ICP Asks UK & France About Kerry / Al Jubeir New Plan, After Envoy Rejected

By Matthew Russell Lee

UNITED NATIONS, August 31 -- The UN Secretariat of Ban Ki-moon's bungling of Yemen mediation has become ever more clear, according to multiple sources and documents exclusively seen by Inner City Press, see below.

On August 18, Inner City Press exclusively published the proposal that Ban's envoy Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed made in Kuwait. This was the proposal described as blatantly one-sided that led to a collapse of the talks, the Saudi-led Coalition increased airstrikes and the death of more civilians.

9 Ways Donald Trump Is A Sociopath

What's happening in U.S. politics is very sad, and scary. The American people deserve better than Trump and Clinton. Both candidates undermine the dignity of the country.

Both have treated the American people with disrespect. Both demonize their political enemies and accuse their critics of treason. Clinton goes further, and kills them.

Neither candidate is a great orator, which is the number one skill needed in a good President. Clinton can barely get her words out without falling over, and Trump chooses his words very poorly. In one of his victory speeches he bragged about getting the votes of the less educated. Who the hell says something like that? What a buffoon. The guy is totally nuts.

Both are literally sick in the head. It's medically provable.

Trump should be given back his old TV show, and Clinton should be put in a nursing home.

Given these two horrible choices, a vacant White House would be the best outcome of the election in November.

How did it reach this depressing point?

Over the years a lot of political talent has been stifled or turned off by the Republican and Democratic establishments who wouldn't be able to exist in a competitive political environment. Under their control the political debate has been kept within very narrow and shallow limits, and that has proved to be too suffocating.

Trump came along and exploited this situation. However pure his motivations are, it's obvious he is not a solution, but a symptom of the problem.

The need for a third, fourth, and fifth political party, a free media, and open debates, couldn't be any clearer in this election cycle. The majority of the American people understand this, and so they will demand new political parties.

Maybe Trump and Clinton will have served a purpose after all.

The European Migrant Crisis: Ending Turkey's Blackmail Is A Must

An excerpt from, "Merkel admits mistakes made in Germany, EU with refugee crisis" by Erik Kirschbaum and Andrea Shalal, Reuters, August 30, 2016:
Germany and other European Union countries turned a blind eye to the refugee crisis building on its external borders for too long, Chancellor Angela Merkel said in a German newspaper interview to be published on Wednesday.

Merkel, who has faced criticism in Germany for launching her policies of welcoming refugees a year ago, also told the Sueddeutsche Zeitung that Germany and the EU will need patience and endurance in dealing with migration of people to Europe.

"There are political issues that one can see coming but don't really register with people at that certain moment - and in Germany we ignored both the problem for too long and blocked out the need to find a pan-European solution," she said.

Merkel made the comments in an unusually self-critical analysis that appeared to be timed to the one-year anniversary on Wednesday of her now-famous statement "wir schaffen das", or "we can do this", when asked about the rising tide of refugees.
An excerpt from, "The EU Sells Its Soul to Strike a Deal with Turkey" by Wolfgang Münchau, Financial Times, March 20, 2016:
"The deal with Turkey is as sordid as anything I have ever seen in modern European politics. On the day that EU leaders signed the deal, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the Turkish president, gave the game away: 'Democracy, freedom and the rule of law.... For us, these words have absolutely no value any longer.' At that point the European Council should have ended the conversation with Ahmet Davutoglu, the Turkish prime minister, and sent him home. But instead, they made a deal with him — money and a lot more in return for help with the refugee crisis."
An excerpt from, "Turkey Blackmails Europe on Visa-Free Travel" by Soeren Kern, Gatestone Institute, April 24, 2016:
Turkey has threatened to renege on a landmark deal to curb illegal migration to the European Union if the bloc fails to grant visa-free travel to Europe for Turkey's 78 million citizens by the end of June.

If Ankara follows through on its threat, it would reopen the floodgates and allow potentially millions of migrants from Africa, Asia and the Middle East to flow from Turkey into the European Union.

Admiral Ret James Lyons on Islam as a threat doctrine

The Caliph and the Imam discussing how to crush the Kurds in Syria whose secular and pluralistic vision for the country deeply worries them.

"Democracy is like a train: when you reach your destination, you get off." - Erdogan.

"You cannot be both secular and a Muslim! You will either be a Muslim, or secular! When both are together, they create reverse magnetism [i.e.they repel one another]. For them to exist together is not a possibility! Therefore, it is not possible for a person who says "I am a Muslim" to go on and say "I am secular, too." And why is that? Because Allah, the creator of the Muslim, has absolute power and rule!" - Erdogan. (Source).

"We all say we have to identify the threat. Well, I think the one who identified it the best was Erdogan from Turkey when he said Islam is Islam, there are no modifiers, democracy is the train we ride to our ultimate objective. He couldn't have said it any plainer. And until you recognize that Islam is a political movement masquerading as a religion you're never going to come to grips with it." - Retired Admiral James Lyons.

The Real News: The FARC Explains Why They Are Laying Down Their Arms After Decades of Struggle

Source of photo: Luis Acosta/AFP/Getty Images.

"The discovery of most of the graves is not new. It's the result of confessions obtained by the government in previous official investigations. This information was just recently released, as part of the peace process.

The origin of these killings often lies in the use of so-called "false positives," or when farmers and civilians were murdered and disguised as guerilla members by state army officials seeking to advance their careers by producing more enemy kills.

Semana, a weekly political magazine that has been publishing for over thirty years, documented cases of army officials accepting money to act in alliance with the paramilitary forces, killing civilians and then using the bodies to produce higher dead enemy counts." - An excerpt from the video below [4:00 - 4:40].
